SEO Case Study: Central Indiana Plastics Manufacturing Group

SEO: Indiana Plastic Parts Engineering / Manufacturing / Measurement, Mold Maker, Injection Molded

The websites described in the case study below has been generating qualified leads and requests for quotes since a few days after the optimized version went online. Our successes occasionally take longer, but the results are eventually the same: increased site traffic, leads, RFQs, and sales.

Case Study: Indiana Industrial Plastics Manufacturing Group Pools Resources with New Linked SEO Web Sites

Client: Central Indiana business group consisting of a parent company, a plastic mold making / engineering company, an injection-molded plastic parts manufacturer / fabricator, and a dimensional testing / metrology firm.

Optimization Goal: This provider of plastic part manufacturing services wanted to create a cohesive presence on the internet for the four distinct divisions of the group, while improving the impact of the under-performing existing web sites of the individual companies through major site design changes based on the principles of Search Engine Optimization.

While the three affiliate companies had existing web sites, they were extremely limited in scope and content, and were poorly formatted to take advantage of the free, organic listing of the major search engines like Google, Yahoo! and MSN.

Because they lacked much relevant text, they were not search engine-friendly and did not provide visitors a call to action or other reasons to contact the companies.

In addition to acquiring high rankings for keyword phrases targeting Indiana businesses, the primary goal for this optimization project was to create four new web sites with similar design formats and enough written content in each to establish the companies as experts in their fields.

Additional Case Studies

One important change to the existing sites was to format the web sites utilizing current principles of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to attract the attention of the search engine webbot spiders responsible for web site placement on the search results pages. One key to this goal was to turn five page web sites into  content-laden "spider" magnets.

Rather than try to apply SEO techniques to the companies existing web sites, it was decided to start from scratch and have Productive build them entirely new, redesigned sites, as well as a brand new site for the parent company.

Results: After conducting extensive interviews with key personnel of each company, we further researched the subjects and wrote original content on a variety of topics for each site, developing 40+ page sources of professional information; full of rich, relevant, search engine-friendly text, while clearly and professionally presenting the full scope of each company.

With an expanded and more direct navigation structure that quickly leads visitors to the specific information they desire, cross-linking to the other web sites where appropriate, the new architecture provides a comprehensive source of valuable information pertaining to the plastic parts industry.

The new optimized web sites began having noticeable impact very shortly after being posted online. Within a matter of days traffic from the search engines began to appear on the various sites. Rankings for targeted keyword phrases increased rapidly, often onto the first page of a search result, and even into first or second position.

Traffic increased steadily, to varying degrees, on all four web sites and inquiries soon followed. The sites have received form submissions for information from a variety of industries, some located as close as Chicago, to Canada, Europe and even China.

Within one month, the Testing / Metrology company's web site was generating more business than they could physically handle, requiring them to refer some of inquiries to another local company. They have received inquires ranging from small businesses looking to a few dozen parts parts, to major manufacturers needing to test 40,000 parts, as well as Fortune 500 Corporations. They have successfully converted a number of these internet queries into satisfied customers.

The mold-making company has received request for quotes to build a number of molds, including from the US military; while the injection-molded plastic parts manufacturer has gotten request form submissions for detailed information based on design specs sent directly to them via e-mail.

After three months, the four web sites have successfully maintained high search engine rankings and are receiving new hits every day for a variety of targeted keyword phrases, turning web-based leads into customers.

Example Keyword Phrases: PPAP, production part approval process, dimensional measurement services, reverse engineering services, inspection lab, injection molding, ultrasonic welding, HOT RUNNER MOLD, Plastic Injection Molding for Pharmaceutical Industry, stack molds, plastic mold construction, mold design, Injection mold cost

The search engine optimization case study above is just one of the many success stories we can share with you. For obvious reasons, we prefer to not make the details of all of our clients' highly-effective strategies readily available to their direct competitors.
