The website described in the case study below has been generating qualified leads and requests for quotes since a few days after the optimized version went online. Case Study: Independent Insurance Broker Search Engine Optimization

Client: Independent insurance agency located in Lafayette, Indiana.
 

Optimization Goal: This agency's small web site had not been revised in several years and it failed to properly present the full scope of services offered by the agency or its risk specializations. The company president stated that the agency had experienced considerable growth in the last few years and that he was ready to take it to the next level via an increase in marketing and advertising activity. The agency's old site produced no traffic on its own through the search engines, so the goals for this project were to create a site that accurately represents a top-tier agency, visually and through its contents, and to obtain high search engine rankings for the keyword phrases that combined the agency's primary insurance offerings with any of the dozens states in which it is licensed to write policies.

Results: The new site went online June 11, 2004. Within two days, the site had been re-indexed by Google. The following week, Yahoo and MSN had also re-indexed the revised site. Traffic to the site began flowing through all three search engines for targeted phrases like "general liability insurance michigan," "assisted living facility property casualty insurance," and "tennessee worker's compensation insurance." This last phrase resulted in a phone call to the agency for a quote by a Tennessee branch of one of the nations top-three banks - within three weeks of the optimized site being posted on the Internet.
 

Results Update: During the site's first half-year online, two new sections totaling about ten pages were added to it. By February 2005, the site's high search engine rankings are generating hundreds of unique visitors and dozens of qualified leads per month via online forms, emails and phone calls. Spiris has converted these leads into new customers at a rate that causes its president, Dave Hutchison, to report, "I'm very happy with the results of the new web site."

This now-growing company has continued to add new content to the site through the summer of 2005 and the result has been a steady increase in traffic to the site and steadily increasing rate of qualified leads being converted into new new customers.
