Indianapolis, IN, July 12, 2006 - Local companies are beginning to reap the benefits of CartSEO™, DRIVE’s new online shopping cart. CartSEO™ satisfies the need for a database-driven shopping cart while improving upon the web site’s search engine optimization (SEO), DRIVE's specialty.

CartSEO™ combines static HTML web page files with a database-driven shopping cart and credit card processing by industry-leader PayPal.
SportsMirrors, a sports memorabilia and collectibles E-tailer, was the latest beneficiary of CartSEO’s™ innovations, as the revised SportsMirrors.com site was launched this week.

President of Sports Ventures LLC, Jim Jones stated, “I wanted to continue using the static pages built by DRIVE two years ago on the next generation of our site because our original site gained such fantastic rankings.”

SportMirrors needed to replace their existing shopping cart, from an off-site 3rd-party provider, because it did not include an inventory management system capable of handling the thousands of SKUs the company intended to add to the site.

However, they were unable to find a suitable database-driven cart and inventory management system that would maintain the site's very high search engine rankings, which were based on static HTML web pages rather than the dynamic - therefore nonexistent - pages delivered by other shopping cart applications. Until DRIVE developed CartSEO™.

For several years, Ken Zweigel, president and founder of DRIVE, noticed the trade-off between traditional database-driven shopping carts and search engine rankings, and decided to solve the problem by developing CartSEO™.

Describing the new software's differential advantage, Mr. Zweigel said, “CartSEO™ is a shopping cart that breaks down the barrier between the need for a powerful database to handle a large inventory of products and the need for static search-engine-friendly web pages that can support the transaction functionality of a traditional product page, such as an Add to Cart button and tools to handle other product-related choices the consumer might need to make."

The characteristics that set CartSEO™ apart from other shopping carts on the market is that each product and category page on an e-commerce site can now be a static HTML file that permanently resides on a host server instead of just being a record in a database that delivers a dynamic page that only exists in a viewer's browser. "Search engine spiders prefer the distinct flavor of a real HTML file to a tasteless virtual web page because it actually exists," added Mr. Zweigel. 

The static pages contain unique content written by an experienced web site development team with optimization-oriented writing skills, to help obtain high search engine rankings.

CartSEO™ uses the industry-leading and easily-obtained PayPal transaction processing, which eliminates the need for more restrictive merchant and gateway accounts that usually have high monthly fees and other requirements.

CartSEO™ is easily managed with Microsoft FrontPage and Microsoft Access, and it can be adapted to other database programs, such as MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server. Any dedicated or shared server that supports ASP technology can host a CartSEO™ e-commerce web site.
